Holy Cross 4x4 Jeep Trail August, 2004. A hard 8 rated off road trail south of Minturn.

Holy Cross Trail Colorado

Holy Cross Trail On Saturday August 21, 2004. The Holy Cross Jeep trail is south of Minturn. To get there take hyway 24 to FS 703 go west and follow the signs to Blodgett Campground continue for about 9 miles till you get to the trail entrance F.S. 759. The road on the way to the trail is washboard so air down early to make the ride a little more pleasant.

Once on the trail it gets down to business rapidly the trail is rated as a 8 and becomes extreme at French Creek and the Roots of Evil above the creek.

Everyone airing down for the trail..

The trail starts out rocky and Larry, Kathy and Hayden lead the way.

Jeff and Kim head over the rocks with there Rubicon.

Don heads down the trail with his Tomb Raider with the new lift and 33" tires.

The obstacle are near continuous as Mark n Sherri go over one.

Jeff, Kim, Kelly and Gabby follow over the obstacle

Ryan puts on a little show.

Larry, Kathy and Hayden take on the next obstacle. This one is optional, not many are on this trail

Mark n Sherri head up the second part of the obstacle.

Luke and Jillian with Dan following.

Luke and Jillian easing up the rocks.

This is where the trail becomes more extreme French Creek. Larry, Kathy and Hayden make it up the creek cleanly.

Mark, Sherri and Brittany follow.

Ryan heads up the trail.

Don and Jaws cross French Creek.

Luke and Jillian cruise up the rocks.

Dan gets a little flustered but makes it without any real problem.

After the creek it started raining and hailing heavily so we where not able to take any pictures till we got to Holy Cross City.

The crew at Holy Cross City. This is where we stopped for lunch.

The line up of jeeps. There is a circle road at the city.

If you turn right on the road above the city this is what you will see.

Each obstacle becomes more extreme.

There are winch points for all these obstacles.

These obstacles are extreme. If you attempt them please walk them first.

Larry, Kathy and Hayden head back down the trail.

Mark n Sherri at the roots of evil. I thought this was the hardest obstacle on the trail before Holy Cross City. It was pouring rain when we came up and very slippery and off camber on the way down.

Ryan rolls over the roots.

Dan carries Brittany across the creek. Thanks Dan

Mark n Sherri crawling down the obstacle above French Creek

Ryan having no problem.

Dan moves down smoothly.

Don comes on down.

Luke and Jillian have no problem.

We continue down the trail the way we came.

This is the only trail damage we had. We had a great day on the trail even with the rain and hail. As you can see the damage was obviously acceptable on a trail like this.

Looks Like Fun
By Link on Sunday, August 28, 2005 (PST)
Holy Cross looks like an awesome trail. Me and quite a few other Jeeps will be going up there on September 3, and staying there for a few days. Some of the Jeepers, as far as I know will be, Scott, Dave, Greg, Me, and my father, I'm sure there's more. Scott and Dave own All Seasons 4x4 - http://www.allseasons4x4.com in Denver off Eaton. 303-432-7299 It's, I feel, the best auto-shop in all of Colorado, meant specially for Jeeps and Trucks. Anyway, I hope to have as much fun as you guys did. Wish us luck!
