Saran Wrap Trail and Eagle Rock Trail

Posted by on Tuesday, June 01, 2004 (PST)

Saran Wrap 4x4 tail and Eagle Rock 4x4 Trail May 16, 2004.

Saran Wrap and Eagle Rock Trail Colorado

Saran Wrap and Eagle Rock entrances are forest service roads 370d and 370c respectively and are about 16 miles from the Broadmoor on Old Stage Road. Both entrances are on the North side of road and Saran Wrap is just west of Eagle Rock.

On This day we entered Saran Wrap and connected to Eagle rock from the first hard right turn on Saran Wrap. There is a second connection further up Saran Wrap but the snow stopped us from getting to it.

The line up at the over look on Old Stage rd a few miles before the trail.

Heading up Saran Wrap Larry decides to get some air.

Not to be outdone by Larry Mel decides to see if he can get more air.

Bob comes out the high road and Roy comes out the low road.

Mark in a little snow as Larry scouts ahead and finds out we can't make it to the second Eagle Rock turn off.

On the way back to the turn off which is at the beginning of the high and low road Bob takes the harder low road.

Here's Roy on the low road too.

Larry coming down a play hill at the beginning of Eagle Rock Trail.

Mark taking a hard left line the hardest is hugging the left side.

Larry on the moderate middle.

Mel on the harder left line.

Bob on the middle line. This obstacle seemed much easier than last year.

Roy on the left.

Dan up the middle.

Mark coming up the trail just past the Eagle Rock obstacle. There was a lot of run off climbing through here but no one had any real trouble with it. It just looked worse than it was.

As you can see there was still some areas with quite a bit of snow.

Dam taking the next obstacle without any problem.

Bob and Roy having no problem with the stream.

Finally here is Ivan who made all the obstacles with no lockers and stock tires. Amazing what you can go over buy pressing the skinny pedal hard.

Dan coming out the top of the trail.

The line up as we stopped before going back down Gold Camp.

It was a good trip with only minor damage to Mel's high lift I am told and Ivan's fender flare.
