Poison Spider Trail, Golden Spike Trail and Gold Bar Rim Trail Moab Utah

Posted by on Wednesday, May 11, 2005 (PST)

Poison Spider Trail, Golden Spike Trail and Gold Bar Rim Trail. Some of the most famous jeep trails in Moab. May 7, 2005 off road trip.

On a rainy morning 13 Jeeps headed to Poison Spider Trail to transverse, Poison Spider, Golden Spike and Gold Bar Rim. To get to the trail head of Poison Spider you head north from Moab on 191 turn left (west) on Potash road and follow this about 6 miles to the parking area for Poison Spider.

In the parking lot there is plenty of room to air down.

Heading up Poison Spider.

Craig and Gary on a typical Poison Spider obstacle.

Gene leads the group accross the Wedgy.

Bob is next in line.

Gene Spots the rest of the group safely accross the obstacle

Lorne and Paul going up the launching pad.

Anny spots Steve and James up the launching pad.

The group looks like a bunch of ants going accross sky line drive.

Bob Navigates one of the many ledges.

Mark n Sherri follow up the ledge.

Don and Joan go through a little hot tup before going over the ledge.

Jeff, Kim and Kelly negotiate the ledge.

Ben, Sara and Anny moving right along.

With all the moisture this year there are plenty of flowers in the desert.

Lunch break at the overlook.

Sam moves over yet another ledge with Joan looking on.

We made it to the Golden Crack and Gene show some flex.

Little O navigates the crack.

Gary and Susan go accross the crack

Lorne and Paul navigate the crack.

Jeff, Kim and Kelly on the crack.

Sam navigates the crack without lockers.

Don, Joan, Nitro and Jaws move over the crack.

Craig on the Golden Crack.

Roy moves over the crack.

Ben navigates the crack.

Ryan lifts a tire as he goes accross.

Mark n Sherri move up the Golden Stairs.

Ryan on the Golden Falls seems to be a trend in these names.

Don and Joan lead the way through the body snatcher.

Bob at the last obstacle the Gold Bar Bump.

The day started with rain and ended up being a great day. We had 13 jeeps on the trail and had only a couple minor problems. I think I can say fun was had by all.
