Gold Bar Rim and Golden Spike Trail Moab Utah

Posted by on Wednesday, May 11, 2005 (PST)

Going across the Golden Crack from The Gold Bar Rim side March 27, 2004.

Gold Bar Rim Golden Spike Trail Moab Utah

Gold Bar Rim trail is reached by traveling about 7.3 miles north of 128 on 191 and making a left through a parking lot where you see a sign that says Gemini Bridges. At the railroad tracks you can set your odometer to 0. Then follow the road past gooney bird rock which is at the 4 mile mark to the first Gold Bar Rim sign 4.5 miles and make a left. Proceed to the next sign at 5.6 miles and make a left. At 6.1 there is a fork turn left here to the right is Rusty Nail a 4++ trail.

Well here we are at the trail head getting ready to start.

AT the first warm up obstacle Andy finds out his lockers aren't working and decides to call it a day.

Here is the first obstacle that Mark n Sherri handle with ease.

There are lots of ledges along the trail and here is Chuck going over one.

As I said there are lots of ledges.

But there are also named obstacles like the Body Snatcher.

And obstacles that everyone had to look over like the Golden Falls.

Heres Bob going down the falls.

Chuck following right behind.

Bill not to be out done.

Heres Chris on the Golden stairs.

Tim showing off on the Golden Crack. Tim actually had the most air but we just missed the picture.

Mark walking over the crack.

Chris showing some serious air.

Heading back the Golden Stairs are Climbed by Mark n Sherri.

The falls are also climbed.

But the real reason to go on this trail was to see Gene attack the Double Whammy with his army truck.

Gene on the Whammy.

Gene over the Whammy.

Gene beats the Double Whammy.

The day comes to a end with Bob exiting on the last obstacle.

It was a great day. Thanks to the El Jebel jeep club for letting us go on the trip. It was great to see Gene go over the Double Wammy and I think everyone had a good time.
